Experience Opportunities
Experiences must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance and are subject to cancellation should there be a gorilla health emergency. See below for all guidelines.
Presentation or Fireside Chat at Lodge
A one-hour immersive experience featuring a Gorilla Doctor sharing compelling stories of forest medical interventions. Guests will learn about the organization’s history, conservation challenges, and remarkable success stories.
Requested honorarium: $500 USD
Regional Headquarters Tour
Located in Musanze, Rwanda near Volcanoes National Park, this experience offers a 30-minute slide presentation with Q&A, plus an optional tour of the Gorilla Doctors Michael Cranfield Regional One Health Laboratory. Guests will gain insights into world-class wildlife health diagnostics, great ape medicine, and gorilla conservation, as well as enjoy multiple interpretive displays in both the lab and HQ reception.

Have a Gorilla Doctor Join Your Trek
While park guides are experts in their own right, guests may also choose to experience in-the-moment insights into our field health monitoring from one of our veterinarians, some of the world’s leading great ape medical professionals.
Requested honorarium: $2,500 USD.
In addition to the requested $2,500 USD honorarium, guests must purchase a country resident gorilla trekking permit for the Gorilla Doctor. Subject to availability.
Experience Guidelines
We thank you in advance for understanding that we are a small team whose primary focus is protecting the health of wild eastern gorillas. We love partnering with tour companies who respect that our ability to respond to requests and provide details may be impacted by this priority. Due to the heavy workload of our team and veterinary emergencies, Gorilla Doctors reserves the right to cancel and/or change the speaker.
Gorilla Doctors cannot take visitors on gorilla veterinary interventions.
We ask that cancellations are made at least two days in advance. If honoraria are paid in advance, cancellations received less than two days prior cannot be refunded.
All Gorilla Doctors staff are well-versed and familiar with all aspects of the organization and enjoy talking about our mission and work.
If you are a travel company, scheduling one of these experiences does not include permission to use Gorilla Doctors’ copyrighted logos, content, images or videos in your marketing and advertising.
