Title: Head Veterinarian, Uganda
Gorilla Doctor Since: 2007
Motivation for Joining the Team: I always wanted to be a wildlife veterinarian and joining the Gorilla Doctors team was a dream come true and literally the “icing on the cake”. To be part of the team that works to conserve and preserve an endangered species and save it from potential extinction is an honor.
Most Proud of: Seeing the impact of my work with treatment of the mountain gorillas is truly rewarding. When I see gorillas that have become silverbacks now, and I remember the time I rescued those gorillas when they were infants/ juveniles more than 20 years ago, I get more appreciation of the Gorilla Doctors philosophy of “Saving a Species One Gorilla at a time”.
Favorite Animal/s (besides gorillas of course): Elephants. These are the true kings of the jungle and hard to work with as a veterinarian even compared to lions.
